What’s The Super Cool?

 “A mobile emporium that goes to the people with an eclectic mix of everyday objects from around the globe. We sell stationary, design books, homewares, posters & art, cool kids toys and vintage industrial objects.”

I wish I’d stumbled upon these guys earlier (they had a pop-up store in Melbourne Central early December) as they sell a great selection of unique and quirky items, all reasonably priced.

At Signed & Numbered we really pride ourself on the look and feel of the store. Every square meter is utilised to the max and this is what caught my eye about The Super Cool. Their pop-up store is brilliantly designed, totally mobile yet totally stylish.

The pop-up store will be at the South Melbourne Market on market days (Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun) until the 4^th of March 2012. You can find them at SO:ME Space (enter via corner of York & Cecil Street) or check them out online at www.thesupercool.com.

Here’s a  sneak peak of what to expect…

Caitlin will be exhibiting a range of her paintings from 2009, 2010 and 2011. Some works have never been exhibited before.

Opening Night is Friday the 3rd of February from 6-10pm at Brunswick Street Gallery, Fitzroy.

The show runs until February the 16th.

Stanislava Pinchuk, or Miso as she is better known, is a young street artist who has a mythical, fairytale quality. Her work sways between pasting hand-drawn portraits in city streets to intricate drawings and installations in gallery spaces. They often feature figures that have an early 20th century Eastern European look and feel to them — very delicate and touching images.

Miso was one of the artists in the street art exhibition called Space Invaders at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra earlier this year.

She shares a studio space with her partner and fellow artist Ghostpatrol, in an old Gothic building in the heart of Melbourne which is itself a strangely magical place.

People constantly wander in, breezily telling us that they’re ‘just here to say hello to your beautiful dog’.

He is Signed & Numbered’s #1 sales person, or sales dog maybe? When he’s not smooching up to customers you will find him holding court with his numerous whippet friends that pop in throughout the day. Browsing customers often have to dodge the wrestling pups, not that they mind one bit!
