LUCY LUCY AND SLICER’S MENZIES ALLEY MURAL

Our latest collaboration with Melbourne Central involved 2 Melbourne-based street artists, 12 sheets of ply wood, 5 liters of black paint, numerous cans and a 48-hour window of opportunity.

The end result speaks for itself. Big thanks to Lucy Lucy and Slicer for smashing out this 15 meter wall located in Menzies Alley in record time!

HEESCO’S URBAN JUNGLE

Heesco was commissioned by Melbourne Central to create a 14 meter mural on their On3 Precinct. Inspired by Melbourne Central’s Urban Playground vibe, Heesco created a futuristic cityscape for the project.

Heesco’s mural is located on Level 3 near the corner of Swanston Street and Lonsdale Street and will remain there for approximately 6 months.

KAFF-EINE’S MC COLUMN

Over last Friday and Saturday night KAFF-EINE painted a Melbourne Central column.

For anyone familiar with MC you would have noticed that a fair number of columns have been ‘dressed’. I was always a huge fan of Jeremy Ley’s electric tape drawing near T-Bar (ground level near the escalators) but my new favorite column has to be KAFF-EINE’s – sorry Jem!

This is the third work KAFF-EINE has completed for MC since December last year. That equals a lot of late nights and red bulls….

Check out KAFF-EINE’s BLOG for other high-jinx art news!

Finished? You’re kidding me right?

Can you believe that the Melbourne Central L2 Link Bridge Mural is finished? Check out the result below.

Finally, Kaff-Eine can rest and put her feet up… Right?

No way!

She’ll have a tiny two day breather before she starts on an 9.4m x 4m aerosol art wall in Menzie’s Alley, Melbourne Central. I’ll be posting progress shots all next week.

Nearly there…

I really feel like we are trying to kill Kaff-Eine by giving her such a massive workload right before Christmas. She’s been painting to all hours of the night to have this wall dusted by Saturday. She’s doing an amazing job – the proofs in the pudding (or rather, the  pictures below).

Now that all the paintings done, the inking can begin. Stay tuned…

KAFF-EINE and Melbourne Central Shopping Centre

I can finally spill the beans on this top secret project S&N’s been collaborating on with the talented and delightful Kaff-Eine and Melbourne’s premier shopping destination Melbourne Central.

As I type away a massive mural is in a state of semi-completion on the Level 2 Link Bridge (the bridge that use to link MC to Myer). Once completed, the mural will act as a graphic backdrop for Stephanie Alexander’s Kitchen Garden, an indoor herb garden and chill out area where shoppers are encouraged to relax on bean bags and pick fresh herbs from the garden – little brown paper bags provided!

MC is to be commended for their dedication in cultivating local talent and supporting the arts. I know where I’ll be shopping this Christmas.

If you’re in the Melbourne CBD Kaff-Eine will be painting live from 6pm onwards every night this week. Just in case you can’t visit in person I’ll be posting ‘in progress’ shots on our blog this week xx
